emailing etiquette

over the last few weeks we have been learning about email etiquette . email etiquette is the way you speak to someone in text email and ect. like texting to a friend you would say stuff like "yo , wussup" i dont think you would text to a teacher like that or if you're looking for a job interview . so we learnt how to text to properly. we did a few exercises as well . like fake emailing our teacher to see if we learnt how to and watching a video and so on . it was a fun project that kept us busy . although i dont think i learnt much that i didnt already know . till next time bye .

the wonders of "Wonder"

 

In the last two terms of grade 6 we have been reading a book named "Wonder" by Raquel J. Palacio i really loved this book and i would recommend it 

the part of the book that stood out for me is the fact that this boy named August (he has a deformed face) got bullied a lot and i can kind of relate to that since i have a deformed thumb and I've been bullied for it before i came to Elkanah 

this story hasn't changed me much but its changed the way i look at the world , my mum always said i used to look at the world differently to others but this book has honestly made me see the world in very "different" terms . I often see the world as colourful but there are some days when I'm sad were id rather hide from the world and now I'm usually looking at the colourful side . I mean if August could deal with it so can i 

Like i said earlier i would most likely identify with Augie/August because i know what its like not fitting in . it takes some time getting used to needing to hide or run from others in the world , I understand how hard it can be in a NEW SCHOOL not knowing ANYONE and being different . moving to different schools is hard enough , having a deformity as well only makes it harder 

well that's my experience with Wonder and i really enjoyed it . i would recommend it for people who like a lot of drama and excitement . There are some sad bits in the book if you like emotional reads but I'm not gonna spoil that for you . until next time bye 
 

The Inker

in tech (a subject we have in school) we are doing an animation project . we had to make a villain and a super hero . by we i mean my partner , Lauren and i . we made the super hero an octopus and the super villain a eel since their natural enemies in the ecosystem of the sea and ect. we're still animating but we're almost done . the animation process takes a LONG time and a lot of work . well the super hero's name is the Inker and he has an ink gun , he is white with blue dots on him with a mustache and a top-hat as well . he looks like this


I don't have an image of the villain , eelusionist . but this will have to do . Lauren and i look forward to when this project is finished . i might make a post about when its done but for now , bye until next time. 

Time with the Grade 4's

last week Wednesday my classmates and I had to explain to the grade 4's  why Messaging can be dangerous and confusing at times . I used a document i made to help make things easier to explain , generally using pictures and text will help them remember how things work . We arrived at the classroom and we were partnered up with Grade 4's.  At first it was a bit weird and awkward because we were still getting used to each other but after a while we started to talk and it became a lot less awkward . Eventually i started with my "lesson" on how vocal expression is important for us to understand what the person is saying to us and how facial expression is also very important . After that we just talked about how if we meet people online you shouldn't give them your personal info . I'm pretty sure her parents already explained that part to her . i cant exactly remember her name but i think it was something with an H maybe Hannah . its weird how once you get there my reaction was "AWW little grade 4's they're so cute" but once i got to know them it felt as if they were the same age as me . Once we finished the "Lesson" we just took time to get to know each other and we both seemed to have a lot in common . I think we can call each other friends now and i hope that we get to do activities like this more often . We got very distracted and somehow we found a shirt hanging on a lamppost and ended up wondering around the school while talking about stuff like video games and which ones we play , until Mr . Walker  called us in and i had to leave . "Hannah" and I haven't really talked after that but I've seen her around and we occasionally wave to each other . That's all for now BYE .

My goals , hopes and dreams for 2017 !

one of my family's goals is to have a change in our lives. Like we are selling the house and we have already got a good offer for it . One of my more personal goals is that while i love my sister i want to get along with her more , id like if we didn't fight so much . I am aiming to get better marks in my Maths , Afrikaans and English . I am also aiming to be a part off more things like 'The Little Mermaid 'and possibly the leadership program . I hope that the drought will go away this year and that i can help with this . I know at this moment doing all of them at once is a lot of things at once but maybe just maybe ill manage with my dream of being more organised as well   ill to be able to control my A.D.H.D and use it to my own advantage . 

I WILL do my BEST to make this happen to make my dreams a reality .

I enjoyed righting my poem . I found it very easy and calming. I thought a fairy would be a good subject since it is a well known fantasy creature and I love fantasy. I like the way it turned out espesily the way they only know it is a fairy at the end . For me righting is fun espesily when I'm aloud to choose the subject and poems are one of my favorite ways to right out what your feeling .

15 May after school

Betsy is very happy surprisingly my parents quite like her and got an extra old mattress for her to sleep on .  I tried to feed her onions she seemed to like them , I think . She really likes it when I spray her with the hose she seems to be really intelligent. I can call her name and she responds to it after one day . I love bestie being around even if the neighbors  don't really agree  but there children Bobby and Lundy really like her. She's really friendly and has not  hurt anybody .

I woke up to bestie by the side of my bed watching me sleep . Her gigantic nose sniffed me as I awoke. Betsy looked at me as if to say good morning. She grunted happily . "Bestie let's see what food you like!" I said excitedly . Bestie seems to love Water melon she ate the whole thing and half of my share and my grandmas. She's a cheeky one like me . It's Saturday so I didn't  have to go to school. I took bestie for a walk well she took me for one. We got back home to see my mom and dad had acidly got a pool for bestie . There were builders busy making it. My mum said I had to clean the pool when it's dirty . I agreed and bestie looked over the moon happy. Then I fed her and ate lunch . I and Betsy fell asleep after that . 

17 May 

I woke up to bestie liking the chocolate I had last night of my face. I mean ewww . I didn't mind though she at least let me sleep till 8.00 . I fed her some green beans today  she needed a lot of green beans to fill her up and one water melon. My parents said we may keep her . Betsy let out a grunt of happiness . We went to go see how the pool was coming along and all we needed to do was fill it with water. So I used the hose on Betsy to clean her and then she took me for another walk she seems to follow me home so I'm fine with her dragging me along . She loves our neighbors and they love riding her and she seems to like them on her back. We got back and my dad was filling the pool up . I fed Betsy more water melon and some onions then she fell asleep on her old mattress. I put a blanket on her as her eyes slowly closed . That's what happens these last few days I really enjoyed them and I'm sure il get used to Betsy liking my face in the morning eventually .
